I talk to my ex's friend online every night and idk what to do...?

so this friend of my ex's talks to me online almost everynight-somtimes he can be flirtatious and stuff. hes really cute and nice and idk what to do cause its soo hard to tell if hes saying stuff. somtimes it seems like he drops hints but then idk....hes given me and my friends a ride home once before and i know hes a sweetheart. what should i do/say or anything help!!! i just wanta be happy....
