Can I install plumbing for ice maker in refrigerator under my sink?

Under my sink, I only have the shutoff and the flexible tubes that go to the faucet. There is no copper piping to install a saddle valve. Can I install some sort of T-valve on this side of the shut-off valve? (The copper pipes are behind the wall as that part of the house has slab foundation.)
